Longtime Green Valley volunteer Chuck Hill, receives the volunteer of the Year Award given by the Rotary Club of Green Valley, and club President Andy Heideman. Hill received the award, which is given to non-Rotarians, for his work with the Santa Cruz Bicycle Advocacy Committee, which promotes bicycle safety in Southern Arizona. Hill was nominated by the committee, and also was honored for his work with the GVR Camera Club and the Green Valley Fire Corps, where he writes grants and a quarterly newsletter in addition to installing smoke alarms and changing batteries in alarms for area residents.
