Rescue in Madera Canyon – Boy, 6 Airlifted

A 6-year-old boy was flown out of Madera Canyon around noon Monday after falling 10 to 12 feet while climbing on rocks on the Super Trail, said L.T. Pratt, community outreach coordinator for the Green Valley Fire District.

The boy and his mother met firefighters in the parking lot and the boy was taken to Banner University Medical Center because he suffered a head injury. Pratt said.

The boy, whose hometown was unknown, was conscious as he was loaded into the helicopter.
