Man hospitalized after collision near Quail Creek entrance

A 19-year-old man was taken to Banner University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries after hitting a tree near the entrance to Quail Creek Wednesday night.

Two vehicles were involved in a sideswipe-type collision shortly before 8 p.m. and one of the vehicles struck a tree afterward, injuring the 19-year-old driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, said Green Valley Fire District Operations Chief Joey Kosiorowski.

The 72-year-old woman in the other vehicle, who was also wearing a seatbelt, turned down treatment at the scene or to be taken to the hospital, Kosiorowski said.
