For the second time this week, responders have come to the aid of a hiker in Madera Canyon.
Southern Arizona Search and Rescue, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and Green Valley Fire District responded to the canyon Thursday afternoon to help a 70-year-old female hiker who had fallen in the area of Kent Springs, according to GVFD Chief Chuck Wunder.
The woman, who had non-life-threatening injuries, was removed from the area with an UTV, Wunder said.
The fire district and sheriff’s department were in Madera Canyon on Tuesday afternoon aiding a 68-year-old male hiker who had cardiac symptoms while on the Bog Springs Trail. He eventually was air lifted to a waiting ambulance.
