The Green Valley Fire Corps invites the community to attend a pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Jan. 13 at Madera Clubhouse in Quail Creek, 2055 E. Quail Crossing Blvd.
The $6 donation will benefit the Fire Corps, whose volunteers handle day-to-day, non-emergency calls, such as desert pest removal and chirping smoke alarms. In addition, they help with deliveries and errands, shuttling vehicles and supplies, clerical support, lock box installations and home safety checks. They also handle the fire district’s Smoke Alarm Battery and Replacement Program, monitoring and replacing batteries in residential smoke alarms, as well as installing battery back-up smoke alarms in local homes.
