OPERATIONS SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

Green Valley Fire District. The focus of the position is support to all aspects of the Operations Division. This position is considered a civilian classification and entry-level for the Operations Division at the Green Valley Fire District. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Operations Support Technician (OST) is expected to perform the essential functions listed below in accordance with recognized practices and all adopted codes applicable to the Green Valley Fire District. The focus of the position is support to all aspects of the Operations Division. This position is considered a civilian classification and entry-level for the Operations Division at the Green Valley Fire District. Teamwork, service, and respect for diversity are priorities when working for the Green Valley Fire District.

EFFECTIVE DATE: Continuous

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED, or actively pursuing
  • Have a valid Arizona driver’s license
  • Clear driver report
  • Pass a background check

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
An Operations Support Technician reports directly to the Deputy Chief of Operations who works in conjunction with the Operations Battalion Chief and Station Captains. An Operations Support Technician is expected to work in a positive, productive manner with all other members of the District Staff including Suppression, Administration, Community Services, and Volunteers, and may receive direction from any member of the management team (Captain and above).

Tips to Stay Safe

Water Safety and Drowning Prevention Month

There is an irony in reviewing the dangers presented by water activities, as these activities are generally accompanied by warm memories and good times. However, as with all safety topics, reviewing the sad outcomes, allows us to focus on the safety measures that will prepare us, and thus mitigate against water based injuries and death. Multiple agencies across the Unites States, at federal, state, and local levels are invested in water safety and specifically prevention of death and/or injury from drowning.

Green Valley Fire Corps has begun services!

The continued growth of our wildly successful; smoke alarm and battery replacement programs, rapid entry lock-box installation, desert pest relocation, administrative support for the Fire District, and community fall prevention services have created the need to find more men and women volunteers.

Volunteers receive extensive classroom and field training in all functions. There are positions available that will cater to your specific interests and skills. Join our outstanding cadre of friendly, community minded volunteers and help keep Green Valley safe.

Fire Corps volunteers provide non-emergency support to the Green Valley Fire District saving GVFD over $200,000 each year and have a great time doing it.
